At CLMS, we communicate through various ways: emails, phone calls, school website, PowerSchool Parent Portal, Student Led Assemblies, weekly newsletters emailed to parents via School Messenger, notes home, and social media such as FACEBOOK and TWITTER. All these to keep you informed and to be an active part of our school.

School Messenger Updates

Due to technical issues some of our users (parents and staff) were experiencing with School Messenger, we made some changes over the Christmas break that we hope will improve the user experience for everybody.
The primary change is that our information is now all on Canadian servers. As a result, we need to do our Text Opt-In campaign again. If you have a cell phone number on file with your child's school, you will receive a text message later this week from 978-338 that says "Northern Lights Public Schools alerts. Reply Y or HELP. Std msg/data rates apply. Freq caries. schoolmessenger.ca/tm." To receive text messages from your school, you will need to text Y back to that number.
If you are using the School Messenger app, or accessing messages via go.schoolmessenger.com, you will need to change your account to a Canadian one. To change your account, you can go to go.schoolmessenger.ca and create an account. Please remember to use the same email address that you have provided to your child's school or your account will not sync properly. When you log in to the app, choose Canada as your location. Full instructions are available in the School Messenger App section or our School Messenger Parent Guide.
Please note that schools may be sending messages to parents using a variety of methods - voice, email, text and possibly through groups in the School Messenger app. If you do not want to receive messages using all of these methods, you may change your message preferences at go.schoolmessenger.ca or through the School Messenger app (Preferences section). You must leave at least one contact method active for attendance and emergency notifications, but the rest are completely customizable and can be adjusted by you at any time.
Again, we hope that these changes will create a better user experience for our Parents, Students and Staff. We thank all of the parents who have already provided us with input. We apologize for any inconvenience created by these changes and thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
