Student Recognition

The   staff of Cold Lake Middle School believes that every child is worthy of praise and that every child has a special gift worth noting.  The CLMS recognition program recognizes and honors the achievements of our students in academics, athletics, fine arts and leadership within CLMS school community.

HORNET AWARDS

Hornet awards can be given out by all staff member to students who have been “caught” in the act of doing something positive, following the behavior matrix.  Hornet awards are located in the office.  A draw will be done at the end of each week; the winner will receive a $2 coupon to the concession.

CLASSROOM RECOGNITION Grades 4-8

Classroom awards are given out at the end of the year by homeroom teachers to each student to showcase their positive attributes.  There is a key notion of unconditional recognition of all students.  All students possess strengths and are encouraged to reach their potential.  Staff at CLMS aid with student growth, encourage ongoing development, one based on effort, seeking challenges, taking risks, seeing failure as part of the learning process.  We also believe there needs to be recognition of achievement and excellence in all aspects of school life.
